Patterns in Repeat

Laura Marling’s eighth album follows becoming a mother and life with a small child is the central theme of the associated designs. Laura’s original pastel drawing was the starting point; colourful and playful with imperfectons proudly on display. A cursive handwritten style expands on this. Everything is presented as if on sketch pad paper with roughly cut card and cheeky pastel smudges, as if a certain one year old has been plaing nearby. This visual language spreads out to the vinyl and CD packaging, concert posters and lyrics videos.
