Solitudes

This two volume record by Tom Ashbrook was conceived and completed in 2020. The expanded composition style here illustrates his own contrasting experiences of that year’s unusual forms of isolation and connection. The rune lies calmly in the centre. This is an original design - though openly inspired by similar nordic symbology - representing opposing internal forces at play during periods of extended solitude. Safe and focussed yet lonely on the inside with a hopeful, outward facing perspective.

A series of singles were released ahead of the album accompanied by subtle oil painted canvases, distinctly light or dark depending on the track. Finally, the collection is made whole on 12” Vinyl with the credits, photo and a balanced mid green canvas on the inner wallet and a dark green, die-cut outer sleeve with white titles. A series of assets were created to promote the record and related video works.
